The Breakthrough Apprenticeship…
is designed to inspire young dancers to look at and participate in their training in a new way. Online learning and live video sessions are becoming a new standard in group communication. Mobile applications and streaming technology open up new possibilities for both community building and education, and give us access to our content anywhere, anytime, and on any device.
By operating primarily online we are able to bend many of the rules that traditional dance companies have to adhere to; living in the same city for example. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide both a professional company training experience and cultivate a community to provide resources and support for your life and career as an independent artist.
Apprentices have access to the same opportunities and resources as the company members, including the opportunity to participate and be featured in monthly videos and other projects, live shows, workshops, forum discussions, company classes, fitness challenges, etc. In addition to a professional company training experience, It is our goal to both create new and connect with existing local organizations to produce opportunities to keep dance a central part of one’s health and happiness, regardless of where life takes you!
*By invitation or submission only. Dancers must be 13-years old to be considered and may join the company when they turn 19. He/She must have consent from a parent/guardian.*

The Breakthrough Movement Company Repertoire & Training - Access to a library of choreography, tutorials/breakdowns, technical exercises, progressions and guest combinations to study! LIVE Streamed interactive classes (via Zoom) choreography sessions and workouts! Anytime. Anywhere. On any device, smartphone, and even to your Apple TV!
Artist Development - Opportunities to perform and participate in company videos and live performances. Discover what motivates the choreographer in our Artist Forums and with LIVE group video chat sessions. Learn about the process and responsibility of what you (as the dancer) bring to the choreographer’s work, and the dynamics of expressing yourself within that movement.
Breakthrough TV & Watch Parties - Exclusive original series, podcasts/interviews, curated content and LIVE streams designed to inspire! Tune in on your own time, or follow the #WatchParty schedule to watch and comment as a community, with each other, live.
Monthly Fitness Challenges - Staying healthy and injury free is imperative to a successful career in dance, and happiness in life. Thankfully, having a community of people to motivate you and keep you accountable makes setting and achieving goals that much easier!
1-on-1 Mentoring & Strategy Sessions - Preparation is key to success. Connect with company directors and members weekly to discuss where you are in your training journey and talk preparation on how to take your dancing to the next level.
Business of the Business - Resume formatting, Headshots, Social media and technology management, EPK (Electronic Press Kit) formation, etc. Executing choreography is only 1/2 of our job. Being a good business person is the 2nd half.

Our initial intention when creating our first production was to create opportunity for ourselves, our friends, and our students. This industry is just plain hard. But once we got through the process, we realized that we had found something pretty special. We had found our voice. We created a way of saying, ‘THIS is my dream, and I AM going after it,’ and we built the foundation of a community to help support achieving those dreams.
